Radio Training and Testing:
Radio classes (see below) and/or one-to-one lessons are available for students or qualified pilots, all aimed
at building the knowledge and background to pass radio licence ground exam and practical test,
both of which can be set by me at Popham or Romsey.
Due to my background of learning to fly and instructing in controlled airspace before moving to the more
relaxed atmosphere of Popham, I can give a real 'value add' in explaining the background
to many of the concepts required, some of which may never be encountered for
real in flying training outside controlled airspace nowadays.
Live online lessons
are also possible for broadband users. 'Preparation for test' advice is always available and help for
microlight pilots who have upgraded their flying ambitions and now want to add a radio licence into their paperwork.
Popham R/T Test Preparation Classes:
I hold formal multi-pupil classes for students or qualified pilots needing a radio licence.
Classes are held at Popham airfield approximately every month to six weeks.
The usual scheme is to hold the class
on the same evening on two consecutive weeks, starting at 18:30. The day-of-week varies rather than exclude students
who have regular commitments on one particular evening each week.
Each class costs £21 and it lasts for three hours, including
a coffee/biscuit break. Please email or phone for more details, as there is a very small amount of pre-reading to be done.
